Privacy Policy
Effective 29 September 2026
Cube Rival is a speedcubing practice game for iOS, Android, and the web. This policy explains how the current release handles information.
Information stored on your device
Your display name, preferences, solve times, match history, and learning progress are saved locally on your device. Guest play does not require an account and keeps this gameplay information on your device. You can remove it by deleting the mobile app or clearing Cube Rival site data in your browser. If you export a backup, you choose where that file goes.
Optional accounts and cloud saves
If you sign in and choose to save your progress, Firebase Authentication manages your account and Cloud Firestore stores your name, optional user ID, speedcubing method, preferences, practice solves, match and league records, and algorithm learning progress. This lets you restore your progress on another device. Your ranking title is calculated from your strongest defeated rival; it is not a public leaderboard. Only authenticated account services can access your saved gameplay records.
Email sign-in uses Firebase Authentication. Where enabled, Google, Apple, and Facebook sign-in also use the selected provider’s authentication service. Available methods are shown in Profile. These services process account identifiers, email addresses, authentication credentials, and connection information according to their own privacy policies. Cube Rival does not store your password in your gameplay records. See Firebase’s privacy information.
Deleting your account
In Profile, choose Delete account and confirm your identity to delete your Firebase account, reserved user ID, and cloud gameplay records. The current device’s local records and recovery copies are also cleared. Deletion cannot remove backup files you exported, or offline copies stored on other devices; clear Cube Rival data on those devices separately. Signing out clears the current device’s game records after saving; it does not delete your cloud account.
Information sent over the network
The mobile app includes its game assets and can be used offline. The current release does not include online multiplayer. If you visit the Cube Rival website or these support pages, the hosting provider may process standard connection details, such as your IP address and browser information, to deliver and secure the site. If you open a link to another website, that website's own privacy practices apply.
Optional usage analytics
On the website and Android app, basic Google Analytics starts automatically where permitted. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, it stays off until you allow it. If we cannot determine the applicable setting, it stays off. You can turn it on or off at any time in Settings; a choice you make on that browser or device takes priority over the automatic default. When enabled, Cube Rival sends general app section visits, such as “Practice” or “Leagues,” to Google Analytics. Google may also receive standard browser or device information, approximate location, and a cookie or app identifier to measure visits. We do not add your name, account ID, solve times, rival results, or algorithm progress to these events. We keep advertising personalization signals disabled. Turning analytics off stops future collection on that browser or device; it does not erase data Google already received. See Google Analytics privacy information.
Advertising on the website
Cube Rival is preparing a small Google AdSense placement on the web Home page. Ads are not currently served, and the mobile app does not include ads. If web ads are enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to Cube Rival or other websites. Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners select and measure ads based on visits to this and other sites. Other participating ad vendors or networks may also use cookies for personalized ads; see Google's information about certified third-party vendors. You can manage or opt out of personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings or opt out of some other vendors through YourAdChoices. Where required, the website will ask for your advertising choices before showing ads.
Changes and questions
We will update this page if Cube Rival adds features that change how information is handled. For questions or help, visit the Cube Rival support page.
